Thought Crime is Here

The Western World has seen a surge in Governmental crackdowns on dissident behavior. The application of the crackdowns have continued to be disproportionately levied against the lower middle and middle classes. As Western nations have pushed deeper and deeper into stakeholder grievance rights, the equal application of the law has become a laughing stock. People who commit violent crimes but exist within some “marginalized” or protected status group continue to receive blatantly softer sentencing and prosecution and enjoy immense protections by the State from the fellow citizenry who object to their misbehavior.

As time has gone on the window has shifted away from action to words. Free speech has been on a steady decline throughout the West as these stakeholder grievance coordinators move away from actions real or perceived and into the realm of speech. To these activists speech is just as dangerous as actions and how someone says or doesn’t say something is an indicator of a deeper moral conviction on a topic. To enforce this new social order the State made a decision to go after people who had the audacity to notice things. Suddenly commenting about crime, homelessness, misbehavior or preferential treatment or protection for stakeholders in the grievance orientated system became nearly as bad or just as bad as some form of action itself. Most Western Countries have developed speech codes in workplaces and the Government that are insidiously devised to enforce certain messages and narratives. These are used to control the working class populations who are under massive debt loads while providing passes to the wealthy, leftists and those for whom the State cannot take anything from. They are so close but they remain angered because there is still one rubicon left to cross.

At this point in humanity we cannot read thoughts, yet. The technology is being developed to do so but they have not managed it yet. It is the final frontier for the State. The State and it’s grievance stakeholder lobbyists are not content with people parroting the beliefs they espouse. Like in 1984 it isn’t good enough that a dissident say that 2+2=5, they must believe it. The State requires the populace to believe it. Anything else is unacceptable. The ultimate crime to prosecute, a thought crime. Yes, they want the ability to get inside that murky depth where three dimensional space doesn’t exist. Where all your memories, thoughts, imaginings and morality lies, the Pandora’s Box. The cell in which our consciousness resides.

Thought Crime Conviction

In November 2022 Afghanistan Veteran Adam Smith-Connor was arrested for silently praying out of the sight of an abortion clinic in the United Kingdom. He did not speak a word, did not carry a sign, did not motion. He kept his head slightly bowed and hands clasped together but not in a typical prayer pose. The Police had come up to him and asked if he was praying. He said he was in his head. They demanded to know the nature of his prayer then arrested him for violating a Public Spaces Protection Order (essentially a buffer zone for abortion clinic protests). The Council spent $90k prosecuting Adam for what amounts to a $1000 fine. Adam was found guilty and given a conditional sentence and ordered to pay back more then $10k in fees. Without the ability to directly read thoughts, this is as close as the state can get to persecuting for a thought crime. Adam could have lied, he could have denied what he was doing. He chose to be honest about his beliefs and his thoughts and he was punished for it. Regardless of your stance on the topic of abortion. One should not be persecuted for thoughts in ones head. The voice in our head is not a physical entity, it is the enigma of consciousness. A voice forever trapped within that murky depth and mass of mush in our skull. It cannot commit a crime since it doesn’t physically exist. The conviction relied on the mildest of body language indictors and a self-confession of non-state approved thinking.

In Conclusion

With a precedence set, the State will no doubt begin a new era, one where someone will be interrogated for what occurs in the head and nowhere else. The United Kingdom is already sending people to jail for physically protesting, for written posts on Social Media, for saying wrong speak, for merely observing reality around them and now they’ll move to the final frontier, the thoughts inside their subject’s heads.
