There is a saying that the only constant is change. I haven’t posted in a little while not for a lack of will, instead because I am planning a brand change.
"Coffee Breath Conversations”
When I started “Coffee Breath Conversations” I wanted to talk to interesting people about different topics. I had a lot of fun, my early guests were great and I am still in touch with most of them. I recently re-listened to my first episode and realize now how far I’ve come from episode one recoded in a echo filled room on cheap microphones to my current setup now. Over time I began to see a definitive trend in my metrics. People gravitated towards my political content. The numbers don’t lie and I would be a fool to push against the grain.
So over time my show became more and more culturally and politically focused. My audience became more apparent. My audience is generally more Conservative leaning, somewhat libertarian, mostly Canadian followed by American. My podcasts that gathered the most attention tended to be ones that focused on politics and Cultural issues. I was also motivated to create more content on the culture war.
So, with that in mind I sought out a Podcasting coach, this man has launched several shows of his own, one is generating him full time income and he is working on a book deal right now. I appreciate his 100% no bullshit approach, no fluffing, no stroking of ego’s…just straight up facts. So I forked out some cash and told him, “audit me and be harsh about it.” We recently had our first virtual face to face and well he was pretty harsh. It’s only through the harsh and difficult conversations that one can grow.
Ok, That’s a lot of talk…what does it mean?
What it means is that my show is not going away but being rebranded. After my next episode with Jon Uhler is released, I will be changing my show name and logo. I will also be more focused on the direction I want to take with the show. Political and Cultural commentary. I am being coached to do both individual and guest shows. There will be more frequent content.
There will be other decisions along the way however what will not be changing is my style. I figured it wasn’t my podcast name, logo or intro music that got people listening but the content… the content will remain the same. Conservative leaning cultural commentary.
Anyways, in closing I want to say thank you to everyone that has subscribed and almost daily I am gaining at least one new subscription. I also have two paid subscribers now, thank you so much for your support. It really means the world and truly keeps me motivated. Part of my coaching is learning how to develop content exclusively to paid subscribers that is valuable and respects your money. At this time paid subscribers help support paying hosting fees of my show but that isn’t good enough. I want to be able to offer you more bang for your buck. That will be one of the key topics of my next conversation.
The culture war only continues to grow hotter. Stay tuned, I’m just getting started!
