The Conservative Struggle Session
A tale of Two Approaches
Today showcased two different approaches to Liberal attacks. The Liberal media went on a feeding frenzy when it was revealed that the Conservative You Tube Channel has been for years using the tag MGTOW (Men go Their Own Way) on their videos. Conservative Commentator Matt Walsh was also targeted when the leftists found some videos from his shock jock era talking about fertility and age. The CPC (Conservative Party of Canada) attack should have been easy enough to fend off but they botched it big time. The attacks on Matt Walsh, a far more serious affair was met head on. The over arching message is that Conservatives need to stop playing the Liberal Struggle Session game. Here’s my thoughts on it.
Conservative Party Blunder
I had just finished driving into work and was doom scrolling on my phone prior to going in when I saw the reports had started about a You-Tube hashtag. Global News was breaking the story that the CPC had used the hashtag MGTOW in their You Tube Videos for algorithm nudging. The term MGTOW (Men go Their Own Way) is a throw back to around 2010 when the ideology really took root. Men, tired of being treated like human wallets by their borderline and narcissistic Ex-Wives demanding ungodly amounts of alimony, being victims of domestic violence and having their partners lie in Court about them to deny them access to their kids began to band together in Men’s Rights Activist Forums. Out of the collective think tank began a new ideology, MGTOW. An ideology that men need to focus on bettering themselves and that the needs of women and the need for women would come second to their own needs. This of course upset women. These men were shamed, ridiculed and in some cases were threatened by feminists.
Earl Silverman, a male survivor of domestic abuse, attempted in Canada to start his own Domestic Violence Shelter for men only. This was the first time in Canada that there would be a domestic violence shelter where it would be a male only space. He was relentlessly attacked and ridiculed by feminist groups. He was denied funding and women actively campaigned to get funding sources pulled. He was smeared and when he finally killed himself, the most radical of feminists cheered his demise. Earl is highly regarded in the MGTOW circles as an example of the vitriol that women have towards men who want male only spaces. Barbara Kay did a very informative write up on his case located here.
The smears came relentlessly, from the media and the Leftist flying monkeys. Attacking Pierre and the CPC as misogynist, incels and sexist. Then the CPC did what you should never do, they ceded ground. A Public Relations person for the CPC had gone and removed the tag from all of the CPC videos. This played right into the left’s hands, this is an admission of guilt. The Struggle Session had begun. I made a few tweets about it and was attacked. The usual boring attacks that most Conservative leaning people face on twitter.
I had a good tweet exchange with Michael Hettrick about the Conservative Party playing right into the left’s playbook.
I thought the worst was over, then Pierre Poilievre (The leader of the Conservative Party in Canada. The current official opposition) botched it completely in the House of Commons. When the Liberals went in for the kill shot, Pierre took the bait. He stumbled over his words as he condemned the MGTOW organization (there is no central MGTOW organization) and ceded ground that he had dealt with it. He did so to thunderous laughter and table banging by the Liberal Party. The entire scene was a derivative of a classic Maoist style struggle session. The guilty party is meant to apologize and is mocked and ridiculed relentlessly in the process. I couldn’t believe he blundered it so bad. He then went on to bring up Trudeau’s nasty past, but that doesn’t matter, the left forgave Justin already, he faced his own denunciation session and the left will forgive any transgression if it means destroying their enemies. Pierre played his role in the session, he chose to fulfill that role. Here’s the embarrassing video.
Never apologize to the mob. Never cede ground under any circumstance. Your humility will not be met with mercy but more attacks and indigitation against your character. This was Pierre’s mistake and it will cost him for weeks and months to come.
Matt Walsh Refuses to Bend the Knee
Today I was also treated to waking up to seeing the Left go after Matt Walsh. Matt Walsh is a Conservative Commentator working for the Daily Wire. He has been fighting against the woke mob for years but has gone on the absolute offensive after he released his documentary “What is a Woman?”. Yesterday leftists looking for some dirt managed to find a couple of videos from his shock jock early 20’s which for him is like 15 years ago. In one of the videos Matt makes some comments about women’s fertility rates spiking between the ages of 16-25 and the formal age of marriage around this. It isn’t the best video and I’ll tell you, any video talking about that subject is playing with fire. The empty egg carton rants pretty much cost Stephan Molynoux everything as he was literally scrubbed from the internet. It’s a subject bound to raise plenty of eyebrows and for good reason. The leftists thought they had their kill shot and went into a tweeting/retweeting fury. Matt had only tweeted about it once and gone dark on his Twitter page and I was dreading the possibility of an apology video.
What happened though was not an apology video. It was instead a direct rebuke, an absolute refusal to even play the game. Although the entire segment is 15 minutes long and well worth the listen, I have sped it up to the rebuke itself, which every Conservative should listen too.
What is so interesting about this video is that it literally leaves the left with nothing. They can continue to attack but he has effectively disarmed them. Their attacks will resonate in their circles, which already hate Matt and are echo chambers anyways. Even if he is wrong, he refused to play the game and will stand on his own merits or faults. He refused to take part in the denunciation session he was put on internet trial for. There will continue to be attacks against him well into the future but they are nothing now, they won’t have anywhere near the same effect.
Refuse to Participate in the Session
The lesson from these two scenario’s to me is that you cannot under any circumstance apologize to the mob. The right’s biggest weakness is that they want to argue their side with people who are not interested and will never be interested in debating with them. The left’s strategy is total and utter scorched earth and they will absolve their own side of the most heinous of actions if it means that they can double down against their ideological opponents. They will excuse racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and even predatory and assaultive behavior if it means that they’ll win. Conservatives taking the high road and the inter fighting has not served them well.

Sticking Together
Finally I believe that it’s time Conservatives started sticking together more. Too many people bolt at the first sign of trouble. I get it, it’s scary and people are worried the mob will turn on them and maybe they will but you have to ask yourself if your values and the Conservative values that you hold are worth standing up for. We’re in this together and today they go after politicians and big time talk show hosts, tomorrow they go after you. Consider Mark’s point below.
You don’t have to defend bad behavior. Drudging up 12 year old videos of someone blundering trying to make a point and trying to smear an entire Political Party over a SEO tag are not serious things. They are not things anyone needs to apologize over. Small time Conservative content creators need more support as they are frequently targeted and smeared. In Canada there is an entire Government funded apparatus dedicated to doxing and cancelling small Conservative content creators.
